Redline Race Performance Packages
For over 2 decades, our team has been on the cutting edge of GM performance. Whether modifying street cars, or constructing purpose built race cars, we have the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to transform your late model automobile to exceed your goals!
Engines
The heart of any race car begins with the powerplant. The LT based engine surely has its challenges in making big power but with the right combinations goals can be met! Redline Motorsports offers two engine options for the GEN6 ZL1 platform on based off the factory aluminum engine block and one utilizing the hefty GM L8T iron block. Both blocks carry a 427 cubic inch displacement with the aluminum having a stronger sleeved block and the iron as is.
- Callies Performance “Magnum” Series Forged Steel Crankshaft
- Callies Performance “Enforcer” I Beam Forged Connecting Rods
- Diamond Pistons LT2K Forged Aluminum Pistons with .225″ H13 Tool Steel Wrist Pins
- Total Seal Piston Rings

If your going to make a lot of power you need to move some serious airflow through the motor. This then needs to be mixed with the appropriate amount of fuel mass. The GEN5 Direct Injected engines have some inherent deficiency’s in providing this. This coupled with many wanting to use ethanol based fuels requires integrated port fuel systems. These systems utilzie eight addiotional injectors which injected fuel into the intake port and “supplement” the fuel needed that cannot be supplied by the factory fuel system.
Power Adders
Supercharger Systems
When it comes to supercharger options we have the positive displacement route (PD) or centrifugal. Our go to on the PD has been the Magnuson 2650R and centri blowers have us working off a wide variety from ProCharger.
Turbocharger Systems
Turbocharger is the ultimate in power and control. By making use of wasted exhaust gas we can turn that energy into large amounts of inlet airflow. The ability to also “manage” power through sophisticated boost controllers is a big advantage at the track by being able to control the rate of power on demand.
Direct Port Nitrous Systems
Although very misunderstood, a well designed and installed nitrous system is another big power adder option! The key to this direction is proper engine components, fuel systems and a spot on calibration. Often customers will combine NOS with a supercharger or turbo system for additional power. Read more on Nitrous at this LINK!
Drivetrain
The factory 10L90E 10 speed automatic has been an incredible transmission option. But when it comes to competitive racing needs it falls short in consistent operation and control. For the ultimate in durability and consistent launches; our builds utilize a RPM Transmissions LEVEL 6 Turbo400 transmission. Built to spec these billet case transmissions include the best of the best in internals. Full manual valve bodies and ultra fast transbrake systems get the GEN6 into the low 1.2x 60 foot time and time again. Coupled with this transmission is a custom built high stall torque converter from PTC Converters.
Suspension/Chassis
At an average race weight of 3800-4000 lbs; getting these pony cars to stick the power to the track requires some upgrades to the suspension system.
This begins with a 15″ rear conversion to be able to put some real tires on the car followed by a proper set of adjustable coil overs to help the car transfer the weight to the back while not allowing it to unload after the launch. There are also several other suspension connection points we modify as well.
Fuel Systems
Wheels & Tires
At the power levels achieved with our “Race Program”; there are not many options for maximum grip! Starting with a rear 15″ wheel conversion we now can shift the focus on a tire/wheel combination to hit the tire hard.
Our choice of tire can only be summarized in one name………….Mickey Thompson Tires. At the end of the day the most important part about the car is the tire. In the 15″ sizes we use either the “Pro Bracket Racer” or the “Radial Pro” Series. The PBR is better suited for tracks that are more warn in and less prep. This also includes the street. The Radial Pro tires really needs to be on track conditions that are well prepped with alot of glue laid down. This tire was inspired for the Radial Pro Series of racing where track prep is on point!
